Automotive plants must separate robot cells, conveyors, CNC machines, tooling and operator routes while keeping material flow usable. A conventional welded steel fence or chain-link fence can consume more area than the panel itself: stand-off distance, oversized posts, fixed base plates, door swing and future repair access all become part of the perimeter. When a model change or automation retrofit moves the hazard, cutting and re-welding also turns a layout adjustment into hot work and lost floor time.

Standardized aluminum components keep the system compact to plan
Alfence is built around aluminum extrusion, modular panels and connectors rather than a site-fabricated cage. The 40×40 mm and 45×45 mm post options give the layout engineer a defined profile envelope, while the reusable component approach makes it easier to coordinate corners, access openings and equipment boundaries before installation. 20×100 mm mesh helps preserve usable aisle and service space
The mesh choice is a layout decision, not just a visual finish. A 20×100 mm grid gives a clear physical boundary and visibility into the robot cell while allowing the designer to study a closer perimeter than a loose, over-built enclosure. The indexed machine-guarding image shows dense welded mesh, modular framing and adjustable floor supports; it is useful evidence for checking where posts and anchors sit in the footprint. It does not establish an impact rating or replace the project risk assessment, especially where forklifts or AGVs share the area.
Reconfiguration protects capacity when the line changes
Automotive production rarely stays fixed. New vehicle variants, added stations and revised material routes can move a robot cell or open a different maintenance side. Alfence uses bolt-free modular assembly, removable or reconfigurable panels and configurable hinged, sliding, folding or telescopic safety doors. Safety interlock switches and light curtains can be coordinated with the access design. Confirm the hazard, collision exposure, environment and applicable EN ISO, CE, OSHA or ANSI/RIA review for the specific installation.

Provide the equipment envelope, hazard points, operator and maintenance routes, target fence height, door type, light-curtain or interlock locations, floor condition and the required local safety review.
