ALFENCE INDUSTRIAL SAFETY FENCE

Modular machine guard: lighter aluminum safety fencing for safer installation

For food, pharmaceutical, cleanroom, outdoor and automated-production projects, Alfence is a modular machine guard built around lightweight aluminum profiles. It replaces heavy steel guarding with a system that can be carried and erected by installers, while supporting corrosion-resistant, washable machine guarding layouts.

Why replace heavy steel guarding?

Steel wire partitions and welded steel fence systems can make an installation crew depend on lifting equipment and several people for each panel. That raises handling and lifting risk, extends installation time, and adds load to floors or elevated slabs. In food, beverage, pharmaceutical, cleanroom and outdoor environments, painted steel can also corrode or shed coating; stainless steel addresses corrosion but increases material cost.

プロジェクト要件 Alfence modular machine guard response
Lower handling risk during installation 4040B aluminum post: 1.8 kg/m; 4040P aluminum post: 2.0 kg/m. Installers can carry and position the posts manually, reducing dependence on lifting equipment.
Less floor or slab loading Lightweight aluminum alloy profiles reduce the dead load compared with heavy steel fence components; final anchoring remains project-specific.
Washable, corrosion-resistant guarding Aluminum extrusion with powder coating supports indoor machine guarding and applications where cleanable surfaces and corrosion resistance matter. Outdoor protection should be specified for the environment.
Fast line changes and retrofit work Post-and-panel modular construction allows sections to be assembled, removed and reconfigured without on-site welding.

Structure and field evidence behind the lighter machine guard

Aluminum extrusion replaces heavy steel posts

Alfence uses aluminum alloy extrusion for a modular frame rather than relying on heavy welded steel sections. The indexed shipment image shows the hollow extruded profile form and palletized handling. The stated 4040B and 4040P weights make the installation advantage concrete: 1.8 kg/m and 2.0 kg/m respectively, suitable for manual carrying and upright positioning during many indoor installations.

Choose mesh or transparent panels around the hazard

The post-and-panel system can be configured with welded wire mesh, polycarbonate or acrylic panels according to the hazard and visibility requirement. The transparent-panel installation image shows a modular aluminum-framed enclosure around automated equipment, with access doors and maintenance visibility rather than an improvised barrier.

Reconfigure production areas without welding

For retrofit guarding, assembly lines, conveyor guarding, AGV paths and robot cells, bolt-free panel changes and modular connections help teams relocate or rebuild sections as equipment moves. A mobile aluminum-frame partition with caster wheels provides visual evidence of the same lightweight, relocatable approach for temporary or changing work zones.

Where this aluminum machine guarding fits

  • Food and beverage plants: corrosion-resistant aluminum and cleanable panel options help separate automated equipment and packaging lines; confirm the required finish and washdown conditions.
  • Pharmaceutical and cleanroom areas: use enclosed or transparent panel configurations where controlled access, visibility and low-maintenance surfaces are required; project hygiene specifications must determine the final material selection.
  • Automated warehouses and AGV paths: modular safety guarding supports storage-zone isolation, conveyor guarding and robotized material handling, with the layout set to the required safety distance.
  • Indoor plant retrofits and outdoor guarding: the lightweight structure helps reduce installation handling, while outdoor projects require an environment-specific corrosion and anchoring review.

For machine guarding design, confirm the hazard, access-door arrangement, panel type, floor condition and applicable requirements such as EN ISO 14120 and EN ISO 13857 before fabrication. Alfence can be specified with 40×40 mm or 45×45 mm posts, 20×100 mm welded mesh, common heights of 1000, 1800 or 2000 mm, and widths from 200 to 1200 mm, subject to the project configuration.

Specify the result, not only the fence

Share the machine or production-line layout, installation height, access points, panel preference, floor condition and environment. The resulting Alfence bill of materials can then address manual handling, slab loading, corrosion exposure, visibility and future reconfiguration together instead of treating the safety fence as a standalone steel partition.
