Hot-Work-Free Fence for Combustible-Dust Plants

Why a Paper, Printing or Recycling Plant Should Buy an Industrial Safety Fence That Never Strikes an Arc

A welded square-tube perimeter in a plant full of paper reels, ink mist and combustible dust means a hot-work permit, a fire watcher, a cleared zone and a paper trail — usually a weekend window, often after a 4-week wait. Mefence replaces that welding pass with a clip-fixed, bolt-down modular safety fence industrial that one person can install in three steps. No permit. No spark. No white shift.

Mefence Clip-Fixed Industrial Safety Fence — Hard Specifications

The numbers below are the actual factory specifications for the Mefence modular safety fence industrial system. Wire, post, mesh opening and connection type are what make the “no welding on site” claim real — every panel sits in the slot, every bolt goes through the pre-punched hole, every base plate lands on the concrete.

Item Specification
Material Q235 carbon steel, welded wire mesh
Wire diameter 3 mm / 4 mm
Mesh opening 20 × 100 mm / 50 × 50 mm
Panel width 200 – 1400 mm
Panel height 200 – 3000 mm
Panel structure Frameless 3D welded mesh with multiple horizontal T-shaped ridges (folded mesh / bending fence)
Post size 40 × 60 mm or 60 × 60 mm, powder coated
Connection Plastic clip + self-tapping screw (no on-site welding)
Floor fixing Base plate post + expansion bolt, with slotted mounting holes for tolerance
Surface treatment Electrostatic powder coating (powder coated steel)
Standard color Yellow + black safety fence (custom color safety fence and orange temporary fence on request)
Installation One person, three-step clip fixing; cut install time approximately 50%
Reuse Modular reconfigurable system, relocatable reusable fence
Positioning Area demarcation, traffic guidance, machine guarding; not a certified anti-collision barrier

Why a Mefence Clip-Fix Install Passes the EHS Desk and the Plant Manager’s Desk at the Same Time

No Welding, No Hot-Work Permit, No Fire Watcher

In a plant where paper reels, ink mist, dust collectors and dry waste are the normal state, an arc is more than a maintenance inconvenience — it is a permit, a fire watch, a 4 to 24-hour production stop, and a paper trail that the EHS manager has to sign. Mefence industrial safety fencing is built so it never needs that arc. Panels sit into the post slot, plastic clips lock the wire mesh into the frame, and self-tapping screws pull the joint home. The powder-coated yellow steel post carries slotted mounting holes so the panel lines up on an out-of-true floor without rework. The base plate post lands on the concrete with expansion bolts — no grinding spark, no weld spatter, no torch. For paper, printing and recycling plants, that is the difference between an industrial safety fence you install next month and a welded perimeter you may never get scheduled.

Three-Step Clip Fixing That One Person Can Run on a Night Shift

The full install is bracket-on-base, panel-in-slot, clip-and-screw — three motions that one technician can repeat without help, without a generator, and without shutting down the machines around them. Because Mefence is a frameless 3D safety fence, each panel can be trimmed on site to fit an irregular floor plan, an existing column line, or a mezzanine support without re-engineering the layout. The result, in field use on similar modular reconfigurable system installations, is roughly 50% less install time against a conventional framed fence, and a perimeter that can be lifted out and re-used when the next line is added. One site survey, one pallet, one pair of hands — typical for a quick install safety fence roll-out that does not interrupt the day shift.

Yellow + Black Contrast, See-Through Mesh, Controlled Access Gate

The yellow-black industrial safety fence palette is the highest-contrast combination a plant floor can carry, which is why it is the standard colour for warehouse zoning, pedestrian vehicle separation and forklift path barrier runs. The 50 × 50 mm or 20 × 100 mm welded wire mesh keeps the line of sight open for supervisors walking the floor, lets dust-extraction airflow move freely, and stops people from ducking under or stepping through the barrier. Where the layout needs a controlled crossing point — for example between a paper reel storage area and the converting hall — the system bolts in a hinged access gate with a latch, so pedestrian and vehicle discipline is enforced at the door instead of by painted lines and cones. The mesh also doubles as a cable management fence run: the T-shaped ridge pressed into every panel carries low-voltage signal, sensor and interlock cabling off the floor without separate trays.

Where a Hot-Work-Free Industrial Safety Fence Actually Earns Its Place

  • Paper converting and corrugated plants — reel storage, slitter rooms, die-cutter bays, gluing lines
  • Printing halls — press lines, drying tunnels, ink mixing rooms, finishing stations
  • Recycling and waste-handling yards — bailer floors, sort lines, dry-waste bunkers, transfer zones
  • Warehouse zoning in logistics operations that store paper, board, tissue or pelletised material
  • Pedestrian vehicle separation around forklifts, clamp trucks and tow-tractors in combustible-dust aisles
  • Tool crib enclosure and material segregation inside the same plant, where a wall would block supervisor visibility
  • Site demarcation and temporary construction fence use during a converter upgrade that has to finish in a single maintenance weekend
  • Temporary partition around dust collectors, ink-mix rooms or hot equipment while permanent guarding is being built off-line

In every one of these zones, the binding decision is not “which fence looks best” — it is whether the install can pass EHS, hot-work permit and fire-load review, whether the floor is back in service before the next shift, and whether the perimeter can be re-used when the next layout change comes through. Mefence is built so the answer to all three is yes.

Send us your floor plan, your combustible-dust zones and the line you need to cordon off. We return a marked perimeter layout with panel count, post count, gate positions and a CAD block in the colour of your choice, plus the Mefence specification sheet for the hot-work, OSHA and ISO review chain.

Skip the Hot-Work Permit. Install the Fence on the Next Shift.

Tell us your combustible-dust zones, the aisles you need to close off and the date you want the perimeter live. We will ship a clip-fixed, bolt-down Mefence kit that one person can install without an arc, without a fire watcher, and without shutting down the day shift.
